How does bill negotiation work?

Butter can help you manage your expenses by negotiating on your behalf with companies like telecommunications and cable providers to reduce some of your monthly bills.
We’ll negotiate changes to your Provider account in order to reduce your bill as long as the changes do not reduce the features or quality of the products/services you receive from the Provider or extend the term of your contract. We may add discounts, credits, or promotions to your Provider account, or add features or improve the quality of the products/services you receive, as long as the changes reduce your bill.

How much does it cost to negotiate my bill?

If our negotiations with your Provider are not successful, then there is no charge to you for the Bill Negotiation Services.

If we are successful, you agree to pay us a fee equal to forty percent (40%) of the total amount of savings that we negotiate for you.

For example, if your provider agrees to reduce your bill by $20 per month over 12 months, you save $240 and we charge you 40% of $240 ($96). The remaining 60% of savings is all yours!
We’ll collect your payment information in advance of performing the Bill Negotiation Services, and charge you for amounts due if we successfully negotiate savings for you.  We’ll send you an invoice via email with details of all negotiated savings and fees.

+

How long does it take to negotiate my bill?

The time to negotiate your bill can take a few weeks. We’ll send you an email for when we received your bill and when we start the negotiation process.

+

Will you change my plan if you negotiate my bill?

We’ll negotiate changes to your Provider account in order to reduce your bill as long as the changes do not reduce the features or quality of the products/services you receive from the Provider or extend the term of your contract.

We may add discounts, credits, or promotions to your Provider account, or add features or improve the quality of the products/services you receive, as long as the changes reduce your bill.

Can I be locked into another contract if you negotiate my bill?

When you negotiate your bill through Butter, we will not extend the term of your contract or renew your contract.
